Rating
Style: Epic Metal
Release date: September 8th 2006

“Rise of the Warlords” is the debut album from these five Italians, Assedium was formed in 2003 and released a demo called “Far from the Light” in 2005 with five originals and a cover version of Cirith Ungol’s “Black Machine” the Cirith Ungol song also appear on the Cirith Ungol tribute album “One Foot in Fire” released by Solemnity Music in 2006, it all led to a deal with My Graveyard Productions.

“Rise of the Warlords” are heavily influenced by some of my favourite bands such as Cirith Ungol, Manilla Road, Brocas Helm, Omen and they are part of a South European trend with new and young bands playing epic metal, some Of the other bands are Battle Ram, Holy Martyr, Doomsword and Battleroar.

Assedium has delivered a good album but there is still a long way up to the Gods mentioned above, but Assedium is still a young band and I believe that with more work and experience they will achieve their goals.
