Antimatter has always stood out in my mind as being affiliated with Anathema, and thus automatically good, the facts disregarded. Now that I actually have a complete piece of work by these English blokes, I have to re-evaluate my impression.

Antimatter plays ‘I feel sorry for myself’ rock. I tend to like this kind of music, but not in this case. This seriously sucks, and I’m shocked to admit it! The music is as boring as watching paint dry and the vocals, while good!, brings some sort of phony Hollywood string quartet sadness into it all. I guess this should be atmospheric, depressing and oh so beautiful, but it just doesn’t work for me, sorry.

I can probably recommend this to teenagers bursting with hormones and bad first experiences with love, and maybe people outside the metal realm that I don't have any clue about. All I know is that I really want to like this since it has Anathema written all over it, but Anathema just does it a billion times better. This is going straight into the trash can and I’m all disappointed over it.

Dammit.
