A few weeks ago I read a review of this album called “Glow of Dawn” and this Danish Power Metal band called 7 Thorns so I decided to check their music out. I really liked what I heard and the band was nice enough to send me a copy of their debut album “Glow of Dawn” for review. Thank you guys.

But what do we have here? Well… very Melodic and very catchy Power Metal with memorable riffs and catchy and more than memorable choruses. Song after song captivates the listener and in my humble opinion this Danish band can compete with the best out there.

This is not groundbreaking in any way, just catchy Melodic Power Metal and the band manages to hold my interest even after numerous listens. Singer Thomas vocals are sometimes a little high in the singing range, but certainly not annoying in any way.

There’s not much more to tell, but do check this band out if you can’t get enough of Melodic Power Metal because this is catchy as hell. I cross my fingers for 7 Thorns that one of the labels will awake and recognizes the potential of this band from Denmark.

“Glow of Dawn” is recorded and engineered by Steen Mogensen (Cornerstone, Royal Hunt) at Stonelab Studio. Mixed and produced by Peter Brander and 7 Thorns at Media Sound. Mastered by Andy Horn at Horn Musicproduction. The cover art work is done by no other than Mattias Norén.

As long as there are bands that make such intense, memorable and credible music I do not fear for the future of Melodic Power Metal. Fans of Freedom Call and the likes should do themselves a favour and check this band out now.
