Bruce
Turgon
isn’t a new name to the music scene. He has been around since the late
'60s and
recorded and performed with bands like, Black
Sheep and Foreigner and
with Lou Gramm.
Now
Bruce Turgon has released his
first solo album on Frontiers Records entitled “Outside Looking In”. We
get 12 tracks of what I will call “Moody Melodic Rock” and there is
not much to be criticized with the songs, they are routinely written and
arranged, well played, and everything but the memory-effect is rather
small in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong here… this is not a crap
album, but in my opinion this release is more
than suitable for background music… but nothing more I’m afraid. Except
for a few numbers, “Any Other Time”, “Walk Through Fire” and
“On a Wing and a Prayer” nothing really
stands out. The songs are only average and to me it seems that Bruce
Turgon don't manage to climb on the next step to more catchy and
more memorable songs. Remember
that this is only my opinion
and if you are into Melodic Rock music I think you should at least check
this album out… maybe this album is exactly what you have been waiting for? Recommended tracks: See above. |
