“Love
& Destruction” is the second album from these Norwegian
Metalheads, the first one “Demons and Diamonds” was released
on the FaceFront label in 2002 and licensed to Massacre Records in
2003; “Demons and Diamonds” was a superb heavy metal release
with tons of influence from Iron Maiden, Saxon and other
traditional metal bands.
The
new album has turned out a bit more modern than the previous one,
now they sound like a Bruce Dickinson jam with Wolf and Machine
Men. Thunderbolt is proving for the second time that heavy metal
is still alive and kicking with tracks like “Heavy Metal Thunder”
(No not the Saxon tune), “Metallic Depression”, “Call out
the Lions” and the excellent “Sin, Sex & Spandex”.
I’m
pretty sure that devoted Iron Maiden followers will get a kick out
of this release while they are waiting for the September release
of “A Matter of Life and Death”.
Do I need to say any more?
Recommended
tracks: All of them.
