Life
after Liv Kristine begins with this new album from Norwegian
gothic rock / metal band Theatre of Tragedy. A new
beginning for Theatre of Tragedy with their new front lady
Nell, who has some pretty big shoes to fill, and to be honest I
think she surpasses my hopes and leaves Liv Kristine in the dust
behind her...
Until
this album I've always thought of Theatre of Tragedy as a
good, but some what unspectacular gothic band, but things have
certainly changed with this very good album, that shows a very
mature band, which unite the dark and powerful atmosphere -
represented by the dark male vocals from Raymond I. Rohonyi - with
melody and beauty - represented by Nell's wonderful and
charismatic female voice. A task I think their earlier albums only
managed to some degree and never brought the pure pleasure this
album does!
For
almost 50 minutes this album captures the listener, and it's the
best gothic album I have heard for the past 5 years. Big words I
know, but I am very impressed with this cool album and suggest
fans of gothic metal to check it out...
Recommended tracks: "Storm",
"Fade", "Begin & End" & "Senseless".
