I
have never been a huge fan of Styx, and now I find myself
getting ready to review a live recording from them. The full title
of the album is: 'Styx and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra - One
with Everything'. So as you might have guessed by now, this is Styx
live on stage with orchestra - recorded at Blossom Music Center in
Cleveland, Ohio on May 25th 2006.
This
is a Best of played live in front of a good crowd, and I am sure Styx
fans will be drooling just by reading the set-list... all of the
songs people turn up to hear at a Styx concert are included:
"Blue Collar Man (Long Nights), "Boat on the River",
"Crystal Ball", "Miss America" and "Renegade".
And the addition of the orchestra does add a new dimension to their
classic songs.
I
am sure
Styx
fans will love this album, and must admit that I did enjoy this
experience more than expected, but in reality this is for fans only...
not bad at all... nice music to listen to while you make dinner for
your girlfriend - and she won't even hate it...
