What have I done to deserve this? No less than two hardcore releases have been pushed down my unwanting throat this month. Anyway, Subzero didn’t do too badly, and fellow New Yorkers Sick Of It All prove that they are still relevant some twenty years down the line and indeed are hardcore heavyweight champions.

“Let’s celebrate that we don’t give a fuck” is one of the catch phrases during the initial track on the CD, and that pretty much sums up not only the band’s career but also “Death to Tyrants”. Whether you like the style or not, Sick Of It All is a force to be reckoned with in terms of solidity and power. Songs like “Leader”, “Forked Tongue” and “Fred Army” are pure oldschool punky hardcore whereas the majority of songs on the album are heavier mid-tempo tunes with a rock’n’roll touch and appropriate amounts of spitting anger.

As you have gathered by now, this is not exactly my cup of tea; however, my sense of objectivity tells me that this is worth a good 80 points.
