YES!! Finally! Real Heavy Metal! Damn, I’ve really missed this kind of Metal for a LONG time….

It would be a lie to call RIOT one of my favorite bands, but still I find my way to ”Priviledge Of Power” and ”Thunder Steel” every now and then when I need to hear state-of-the-art power metal from back in the day.

The first thing I noticed here was the excellent production! Crunching guitars, screaming solos, a lethal bass and those thundering drums!! Yes, it really sounds good and so does the material. It’s well-written all the way. Heavy, hard-hitting but yet melodic. Yes folks, this is the sound of classic Heavy Metal!

For nostalgics like myself, albums of this level of quality are really a treat these days! Like I said, I was never a big fan of RIOT in general but this album serves as a perfect example of veterans delivering the goods like they were always supposed to be delivered!

This album is recommended to all ”true” listeners like fans of HAMMERFALL, PRIMAL FEAR, ROB ROCK, DIO, MANOWAR etc.
Really, really satisfying listening to the real deal!

Although RIOT has gone through several line-up changes and even though they’ve lost the excellent Bobby Jarzombek, this album stands out as their best release in many, many years!
