Everything
seems to be connected name wise with this band; they started out as
Caught in the Act releasing one album called: "Relapse of Reason"
in 1995, due to legal reasons they had to change their name - some boy
band emerged with the same name - and their second album "Heart of
Emotion" (1997) was released under the name ZITA. After a few
line-up changes and another name - Guild of Ages - their next album
"One" saw the light of day in 1998, the same year saw the
release of "Vox Dominatas" (my personal favorite of their's). "Citadel" from 2001 was the last sign of life from
Guild of Ages - they broke up in 2002.
In
2003, the three original members got together and the magic of old days
were back leading up to this new album and name: Released. Danny
Martinez (vocals), Brian Mesa (guitars) and the brothers Joe and Rob
Marone (bass & drums) haven't forgotten how you create catchy
melodic hard rock.
If
you know their old material, then you know what to expect on this album
as well - rock solid hard rock with catchy hooklines and choruses, great
guitar leads and Danny Martinez' raw voice. All wrapped in a more
up-to-date sound - call it modern, I don't care - but with the old magic
and vibe.
Next
month will be great for hard rock fans with cool new albums from
Relapsed and House of Lords, both of them are strongly recommended for
hard rock fans! House of Lords have the edge in my book, but this one is
not far behind.
Recommended:
""Mercy Pays the Depth", "All in All" &
"Generation".
