I have always been a huge fan of everything Lance King has taken part on - Gemini, Mattson, King's Machine and especially Balance of Power and Pyramaze. His voice suits melodic power metal very well, and once more he delivers an outstanding performance, in my book his best one ever.

Michael Kammeyer has once more written all the music, with the exception of a small intro "Era of Chaos" and a 3 minutes interlude "Blood Red Skies", which keyboard player Jonah Weingarten have written (He wrote the bonus track for Japan "Flame and Retribution" as well), and the combination of Michael and Johan picks off where we were left off on their debut album "Melancholy Beast" from 2004.

Melodic power metal with a progressive edge - powerful riff-attacks, excellent leads from new guy Toke Skjonnemann, big keyboard sounds, solid rhythms from Michael Kammmeyer on guitars, Morten Gade on drums and Niels Kvist on bass, which with Lance's excellent voice makes this album really special.

"Legend of the Bone Carver" is a conceptual disc, which should appeal to most of our readers. Produced by Jacob Hansen, the disc has a crystal clear sound and a wonderful cover artwork by Mattias Norén just adds to the pure pleasure this second album from Pyramaze is to me.

The album might not be quite as easy accessible as their first one, but give it time because this is a great album, which I strongly recommend you to check out... You won't be disappointed!
