Steve
NEWMAN started his solo band with the release of “Newman” in 1997
and before that he was involved in many English Melodic Rock bands as
a Guitarist and Singer.
“Newman”
was followed by 3 more albums and now he’s back with a brand new release
called “Heaven Knows”. I’m
always open to what every Rock and Metal genre has to offer and NEWMAN deliver
the goods on the first 3 songs. Magnificent Melodic Rock/AOR with catchy
hooks
and catchy choruses.
Sadly
NEWMAN can’t keep the high standard on the following 3 tracks…those
are rather forgettable in my humble opinion. Track
7, “The Circle”, raises the level and once again we are treated with
an excellent Melodic
Rock song with a chorus that sticks like glue.
Bt
then again…the level drops on the last 5 tracks. 5 songs that are not
above average in
my opinion.
This
album comes with a great cover artwork and a good production, and if you
are into Melodic
Rock and AOR, maybe you should at least check this album out?
