Being a fan of Motörhead for more than 26 years it was a pleasure to receive their brand new album called “Kiss of Death” from Target Distribution. Let’s face it; nothing has changed in the Motörhead camp. Lemmy and co. still sounds exactly the same like the Motörhead I love and some of you out there hates.

To be honest…I was very disappointed with “Hammered” (2002) but the 2004 release “Inferno” has grown to be one of my favourite Motörhead albums and in my humble opinion “Kiss of Death” is way better than “Hammered” but doesn’t quite reach the heights of “Inferno”.

Not that I dislike this spanking new release… no, no, not at all. I just find “Inferno” a tad better. A few of the songs are not above average in my opinion but up-tempo tracks like “Sucker”, “Sword and Glory”, “Kingdom of the Worm”, “Going Down”, the dark and heavy “Living in the Past” and the party rocker “Christine” are all first class Motörhead songs.

The production is good and if you are a fan of Lemmy and co. you can buy this album blindfolded. However, do not expect something groundbreaking… because “Kiss of Death” is just 100 % pure Motörhead.

No more words needed!
