Hiding
behind the name Main Attraction is actually the first full length solo
album from Norwegian singer / songwriter Paul Bennech Lyngboe. Main
attraction on this album is off course Paul's voice, and he proves to be
a very good hard rock singer. The
music on the other hand is simple and mostly mediocre melodic rock, with
a few exceptions this album never really rocks, and to be honest
I do prefer my rock albums to do that... only on a few occasions I found
myself rocking to the music, and felt moved by it. Sure
they have written a fine collection of catchy tunes, but not a lot
stands out and leaves a mark. With so many great melodic rock bands out
there doing it a whole lot better and more interesting, I don't see much
room for Main Attraction. But if you like bands like Journey, Def
Leppard or Toto, then I suggest you at least give this album a shot... Recommended tracks:
"Calm Before the Storm", "Until You", "Over the
Top" and "Blue Jeans Girls". |
