In 2003 Jeff Martin (Racer X) started writing his first solo album, titled “The Fool”. Two years later Jeff Martin completed the recordings of his solo album, and I’m sitting here with the final result.

Featuring names like Michael Schenker and Paul Gilbert, among others my expectations were high when I first threw “The Fool” in my CD-player.

After about 5 to 6 spins I was stunned… and I don’t mean that in a positive way… - This album is sooooo, boring. There are not a single memorable riff, solo or chorus on this release. I gave it another chance… and another and after about 10 spins in my CD-player I just couldn’t take it any more.

Even after 10 spins, still no memorable riffs or choruses. The production is alright but it won’t save this crappy album. Maybe I’m being a hard ass, but this album is a waste of time.

End of review.
