The
debut album from Finnish combo Halo of Shadows is in many ways a solid
release that displays lots of energy and will to show skills. There is
really brilliant and rock solid riffing here and there and the band
wants to do a lot of things as they incorporate death metal, black
metal, folky tunes and more modern thrash elements.
In
fact, they want to do so many things and show so much that the album on
the whole becomes quite forgettable due to the fact that the songs
don’t really stick to your mind, even after five listens to the record.
What I’m saying is; the song writing isn’t good enough. Back in the
rehearsal, guys, I’m sure you can do better!
