John
Wetton and Geoff Downes are two of the founding members of
Asia, one of the eighties super groups, their debut album “
Asia
” reached number one on the US Billboards, and singles like
“Heart of the Moment” and “Don’t Cry” reached the
number one spot on the radio airplay charts.
Last
year Wetton and Downes released an album called “Icon”, and
now they are back with an acoustic album and a DVD with tracks
from the “Icon” album, and tracks from the first three
Asia
albums.
Well
I never liked
Asia
and I wasn’t familiar with the “Icon” album, and after
looking at the DVD a couple of times I’m sure that I will
never be a fan. I
actually fell asleep twice watching the DVD, a bunch of old guys
playing a bunch of old songs without an audience DAMN.
I
don’t like songs like “Voice of America” or “Sole
Survivor” in the original versions, and hearing acoustic
versions of them just makes them even worse!
The
DVD contains a 16-minute interview and some behind the scenes
clips, the CD comes with an exclusive bonus track called
“There in Your Bed”.
This
is only for die-hard
Asia
freaks!
