If
you’re into bands like Motörhead,
Gluecifer and The Hellacopters and Ted
Nugent maybe you should take
notice here?
Dustsucker
from
Germany was formed back in 1993 and “Jack Knife Rendezvous” is their
brand new and
5th album. – The first time I threw this album in my
CD-player I was a little disappointed… I wasn’t exactly
in the mood for this kind of music. The music style I’m talking about
is “Pedal to the metal, dirty, speedy
heavy rock n roll”… or “High Energy Speed Rock’n’Roll”.
However the next day I was in the right mood
for some dirty, speedy rock ‘n’ roll, and I was hooked right away.
This
brand new album from Dustsucker is
not about polished hairspray
melodies… no, no… this is all about loudly mangy guitars, feedbacks
and party. – Just crank up the volume and open up a strong beer and ROCK!
Already
the first track is setting the standard… fast and dirty… a perfect
mix of Motörhead, Ted Nugent
and
Punk Rock. After the 4 first tracks I was heading for the refrigerator
for another cold beer and I was ready
to Rock again. Damn it’s hard to play air-guitar and drink beer at the
same time :)
Singer
Max Count Farmer has just the right voice for this kind of dirty Rock
and Roll… rough and aggressive. Could you wish for more?
The
music continues to Rock my brain… the gritty, dirty and distorted guitars are packed with catchy riffs while
the rhythm section of the drums pounding away and bass lines providing
luscious licks, keeps this thing grooving. Not groundbreaking in any way
but still a damn fine and very loud piece of pure Rock music.
This
is just about having fun. So put on your blue jeans and your denim
jacket, run to the nearest record store and get this album. Hurry home…throw
it in your CD-player, crank the volume up and open up a beer (or 5) and
let your ass
be kicked by these Germans.
