a blend of Rammstein, the Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim.
That’s pretty much Swedish four-piece Deathstars for ya. For
the most part, this mix of nineties and eighties sounds works for yours
truly, but for example tracks like “Greatest Fight on Earth” and
“Virtue to Vice” don’t really spark the fire. Perhaps because the
recipes they use have been tested once too many by now and the energy
level simply isn’t high enough to keep the attention. Undoubtedly,
Deathstars are a fun live experience and you’d be able to dance all
night long to their industrial rhythms and hymns like “Blitzkrieg”
and “Play God”, but as a recording artist, they won’t go into my
personal history book of unforgettable bands. Once their website is up and running, I’m sure you can download a track or two see if it’s you. |
