I
don’t know what got into the distributor with this one. Metal it
ain’t, that’s for sure. Some of it is not even rock music.
Tommy Bolin passed away in 1976 and what we have here is a collection of
outtakes from old tapes found in a forgotten warehouse somewhere in the
States. The tapes have been restored beautifully with a great sound.
The
style is typical seventies semi-prog rock with lots of guitar and
Hammond
organ, which I suppose is fine. What I find really annoying are the
occasional slips into jazzy parts as well as the endless seemingly
improvised dabblings of a talented guitar hero. It isn’t my style, and
it never will be. 13 and 14 minutes of genius is just too much for a
simple person like me.
