Heavy Agger – the metal festival at the rim of the North Sea

In the small fishing village Agger at the rim of the North Sea, the proverbial hell breaks loose in two weeks’ time.

12 bands will invade the small venue called De sorte huse’ (The Black Houses) on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th of May. At the top of the bill, you find none other than the wacky Norwegian Abbath, this time not with his main band, but with his Motörhead cover band, Bömbers. The band also delivered an excellent performance at last year’s festival. It looked something like this:

There are still tickets available for the festival. The price is only DKK 350 if you purchase online. If you are based in Copenhagen or fly into Copenhagen, there is a bus service directly to Agger at an extra fee. Order tickets here: www.thistedbilletten.dk

When my old buddy Kenn Jensen asked me if I wanted to contribute to the new site he had created, then called powermetal.dk, I didn't hesitate. My love for metal music was and is great. I wrote my first review during the summer of 2004 (Moonspell's 'Antidote' album). In 2015, I took over the editor-in-chief role, and held that position until January 2017, where I decided to focus only on live reviews.
