RATING:

Manigance has everything a good melodic but progressive power metal band should have. Excellent guitar pieces of Francois and Bruno, strong written songs, nice melodies, a tight rhytmn section and a good powerful singer. They even add a sporadic grunt sometimes to make it even sound more aggressive and heavy.

Nevertheless I don’t think this 7th album called Machine Nation will make the band more popular than they are at the moment. I think the thing that holds them back is the lyrics. Every song is in French and I think that is why they aren’t more popular outside their own country. Sure a band like Rammstein and Loudness (in their early years) didn’t have problems, but the French language is perhaps a bigger problem for a lot of metal fans. If you have no problem with that, there is a lot to like and enjoy on this new album.

Enough variety and fans of Edguy and Stratovarius will sure like this.

Once a metal head, always a metalhead. My parents thought it would only be a period, but they were wrong. I quit to explain the beauty of metal music to others that are not into metal, because it is something you can't tell in words... It is like explaining to a teetotaller why a cold beer is so nice on a hot day... I started with bands like Accept, Metal Church, Iron Maiden and Metallica in the eighties and I think I will still listen to them when I'm stone deaf and old...
